Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. The Service Advisor acts as a liaison between customers and technicians, ensuring a smooth and transparent service experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, technical understanding of vehicles, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assess their service needs in a professional and courteous manner
• Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
• Provide clear explanations of recommended services and repairs
• Prepare detailed repair orders and cost estimates
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
• Communicate updates to customers throughout the repair process
• Handle billing, payments, and warranty documentation
• Promote additional services and maintenance based on vehicle history and inspection
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure satisfaction
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive systems and dealership offerings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in automotive service or customer service roles
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair terminology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with service management software and basic computer skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Mack and/or Volvo Truck Experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

• Standing & Walking: Frequent movement around the service area, showroom, or lot to inspect vehicles or interact with technicians and customers.
• Sitting: Extended periods at a desk or computer for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Climbing into vehicles: To gather information or assist with intake.
• Outdoor work: Exposure to weather when assisting with vehicle or vessel movement.
• Keyboarding|, Phone & Computer Use: Regular typing and data entry using a traditional keyboard.
• Lifting & Carrying: Occasionally lifting items like small tools, documents, or parts, usually under 25 lbs.
• Reaching & Handling: May involve reaching overhead or below shoulder level to access files, parts, or equipment.
• Gross Manipulation: Handling paperwork, tools, or devices with hands for tasks like signing documents or inspections.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working in and around heavy-duty vehicles and walking around the service bay, service offices, and parking lot. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
